Service Plus Community Management has been closely monitoring the impact of COVID-19 on our industry, the business operations of our community clients and, most importantly, our client homeowners and board members. We know that many of you are impacted by school and office closures and the subsequent strain this places on our nation’s economy. We certainly wish you, your loved ones and your communities all our best during this time.
Due to escalating restrictions such as stay-at-home orders, social distancing and self-quarantines being implemented throughout our nation we felt it important to inform our current and future clientele regarding our business practices and policies. Service Plus Community Management has been a work from home environment since its inception in 2017. We swiftly embraced available technologies to assist us in providing service the our client communities and their homeowners. As such, we expect no adverse impact on our ability to serve our clients through this challenging time. Please know that our entire Service Plus team stands ready to serve you while we adhere to recently implemented stay-at-home orders and the attempt to flatten the curve of COVID-19.
Customer Service Tools
As a company that possesses the ability for all our staff to work remotely we will be able to continue providing excellent service through answering phone calls, text messages, email, executing action items, managing meetings and completing all accounting functions without interruptions in service. We have many online tools for board members and homeowners that are utilized to request work orders, respond to violations, collect assessments, approve invoices, online reporting and so on. Many of these tools are already utilized daily by board and community members but will certainly help during this time of isolation. If you need guidance on any of these tools please contact any member or our team and we will be happy to assist.
Board Meetings
Board meetings for our client communities can continue on schedule thanks to technology we make available to all our client communities at no additional charge. Board meetings will be conducted via internet conferencing technology that provides participation via video, audio or chat and allows screen sharing or presentation capabilities. Board members, committee members and homeowners now have the ability to participate in board meetings from the comfort of their own home. While this technology may take some getting used to it certainly will help to keep things moving forward.
Community Inspections/Vendor Meetings
As it pertains to outdoor activities, such as community inspections, we will continue to move forward as normal. Our managers are still available to inspect, take pictures and provide maintenance and enforcement information for the our community clients while avoiding physical interactions with board members or homeowners; we believe that following social distancing guidelines is the safest method for all parties. Other inspections or vendor meetings will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and may be completed based upon the comfort of our staff while following social distancing requirements.
We want to express a deep appreciation to the growing number community clients that have allowed us to serve them since 2017. Thank you for your support as we navigate this challenging situation and continue serving our client communities while maintaining our focus where it belongs: on our valued community members, board members and our Service Plus family.
All the best,
Todd Larson, CMCA®, PCAM®
